Pond House

This is a residence I worked on in Edmonds, WA. My clients already had antique furnishings for the space so what I/we (my co-designer Kathryn Austin) worked on mostly were the hard surface choices, space planning and color schemes. We started on this project about 3 months prior to the home being built so deciding what materials were to be used was essential. Because of the craftsman style home, we chose a darker stained wood. I would consider it a mahogany color for both the flooring and the wood surfaces throughout the home. Lighting was essential in keeping the craftsman feel so we went with a beautiful yet understated chandelier family so it would fade into the space.  Since the home sits just off the Puget Sound, we went with blues and greens as primary color choices. The idea behind those color choices was to bring nature into the home. The home is still a work in progress but what has been accomplished is beautiful.
